Preparing for a Move

by Brook Furniture Rental on May 15, 2012

Relocating, whether it is across town, or across the country, can be an overwhelming experience for anyone.  But, with the right planning, your new start can be a very pleasant one.  Here are a few things to keep in mind before you step into your new home:

Moving? This living room rental furniture is an excellent choice for home staging.

One Month Prior
You’ve likely already started organizing your belongings – collected boxes or bins and perhaps even started packing.  This is a great time to get moving estimates, so you can have an idea of how much the move will cost you.  Consider the following: will you use a moving company?  Do you need to rent a truck?  Will you store any of your belongings between houses or apartments?  Will you need to think about renting furniture for home staging your current home or to fill your new place until your own belongings arrive?

During this time period is also when you should begin thinking about the many other changes that will take place in your life.  Consider submitting a change of address form to the US Postal Service to ensure you continue receiving your mail after the move. It is also time to think about updating property insurance and car insurance information, and arranging temporary housing, if necessary.

Two Weeks Prior
By this point, you have probably packed a lot of your belongings or, at very least, sorted through them.  Generally people will find that there are several items that they don’t want to move between houses or apartments.  Consider donating or selling those belongings.  This is also the time to arrange the change of utilities.

One Week Prior
Now the majority of your items that you don’t use daily should be packed.  Try to arrange boxes so it will be easy to determine how they are to be loaded on the day of the move.  Keep the cleaning supplies within easy reach as you will likely need to do a final cleaning before heading out.  During the week, you will want to empty the refrigerator and freezer, make sure that your pet transportation is set, and finish the last of the packing.  Also, confirm delivery if you are renting furniture.

When the final day comes, you will be well prepared to check the thermostat, turn off the lights, lock the door, and hand over the keys.  Now, the next phase of your life in your new home begins.

by Brook Furniture Rental on May 8, 2012

In recent years, the country has been facing an economic recession that has put a strain on people throughout our great nation.  At the start of 2011, Austin had high unemployment rates.  Fortunately, this vibrant Texas city has made huge leaps to reduce unemployment and put many of their residents back to work.

This top quality dining room set would look great in an Austin rental.

New Residents
Austin area growth can be attributed to the fact that the city has a lot to offer, including an excellent cost of living.  During a move, a transition can be made easier by taking advantage of rental furniture in Austin.  Furnishings can be moved in and out on little notice, so recently employed individuals can begin to enjoy life in this great city with as little disruption as possible.

Local Residents
For those already living in and around the Austin area, the upswing in jobs is excellent news as more and more job applications are being accepted. With increased employment, there also comes an increased need to acquire a variety of necessities for the office.

Small Business
For those companies that have weathered the storm, there can be a large sigh of relief as things slowly return to a more normal economic state.  People are more willing to spend, which means that marketing efforts are more worthwhile and small businesses can begin to grow.  That, in turn, means more jobs, so the push for forward movement is underway.  With the economic upswing and spending trends, those companies that are wise enough to recognize the need to keep costs low will continue to thrive.

Making the Most of Capital
In order for a business to remain cost effective, it must maintain a realistic budget.  A solid budget will choose to focus on salaries, rent, insurance, and marketing, while at the same time utilizing professional services like Brook Furniture Rental to maintain a professional image.  An office can be fitted with a look that perfectly portrays the ambitions of the owners, while staying within budget.  This creates more opportunities to secure even more customers and enjoy more profitable years ahead as a business grows.
